Las Vegas in 360 Wins Award

LONDON – Frequency Pictures again partnered with a recent client, The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) to create a unique experience at the International Travel Trade Show http://london.wtm.com/ which centered around a 360 virtual reality production of three popular Las Vegas attractions. The exhibit was based around new projection technology out of Barcelona, BroomX, a 360 projection system that brings the VR experience out of a headset and into a room.

Frequency shot the project in 8k with Nokia’s Version Three of their OZO camera system. At the exhibit, the viewer experienced a complete visual and sensory experience with fans, heat, and human interaction. “The end goal was to immerse the audience in these specific Vegas locations through a complete attack on their senses” said Frequency’s Executive Producer, Karl Nickoley.

The locations used were the Waldorf Astoria pool, a helicopter ride in the Grand Canyon, and sitting in the audience at the show Absinthe. “We wanted to give people a taste of adventure, relaxation, and awe. Really, that’s what Vegas is all about” says Digital Engagement Manager at LVCA, Lucy King.

The experience won Best Exhibit at the WTM in London and is heading to Germany in March 2019.
